Wolfgang Petritsch has been awarded the European Human Rights Prize for 2006 by Pro Europa European cultural foundation. This prestigious award is presented to Petritsch by the Basel-based European cultural foundation Pro Europa, which operates under the patronage of the President of the Council of Europe and the European Parliament. The prize was presented at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.

At the occasion of the Austria’s EU presidency  in the first semester 2006, the department of the Export-Oriented Management programme invited the Austrian Ambassador accredited to the WTO and other Geneva-based IGOs for a guest lecture. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Wolfgang Petritsch paid a visit to the IMC and delivered a lecture on 12th October, followed by nearly two hour talks with students and small reception.
