"All people, whether they work in government or are part of non-governmental organisations or civil society at large, must better understand - and accept - that in this globalised world, many actors can and do have an impact on the response to problems and conflicts. Therefore, addressing issues of global concern must be as broadly inclusive as possible. Effective multilateralism, dialogue and conflict resolution must meaningfully involve civil society and governments in active partnership. But such inclusion can not end with simple rhetoric and discussions about possible solutions to our problems: without action for change, change will not come - at least not the change sought by those of us who seek a world of peace and security for all."
