Two Words - Deux Mots. Medley / Medlee
, by Sejla Kameric, Geneva: Editions m+h, La Baconnière/Arts, fortcoming 2008, 100 pp.

Questioning the role of art in public spheres, this book can be read in varied ways: as a survey or collage of art works comprising public projects, interventions, campaigns, with photographic and video works, but also as a playground for presentation of the ideas, collection of essays/poems/statements on topics relevant to anyone interested in the modern world and contemporary art.

This book is not a catalogue of answers, delivered in sequence or even chronologically. It raises pointed questions relative to key issues touching Art, politics, society, morality, identity, possession, violence, memory, public/private, time warp, love, fortune telling, activism, human rights, ways of living... The intention is to turn the readers/spectator experience into an active engagement with these topics in “new” ways, providing, though the medium of print a participatory role in a “live” art presentation.

Acting on the belief that art is by nature a dialogue, this work will help those it touches re-think the roles we play, with art and culture as mediators, in the changing processes of the dynamic world society we all inhabit.
